Media Projects
Here There Be Sound Files!
The media portion of my portfolio is dedicated to the multimedia projects I have created over the past several years. The audio projects you will find here were created in a variety of applications over the course of many years. I absolutely love composition and sound editing, and I spent a great deal of time on the following projects. I am proud of them all and regard them as stepping stones along my path as a novice composer.
Jungle Layered Track
This project was constructed in Peak using the application's region capabilities. Overlay several layers of animal noises and ambient jungle effects, and voila! The result is an audio loop that is ready to be featured on the next adventure movie!
Video Game Audiography
Yes! It is an audial research project on the wonders of video game scoring! A two-minute example done in Peak, this file includes a narration on the value of this unique and often misunderstood genre of music.
Trance di Taryntella
This is a remake of the very first loop I created in Soundtrack. I still enjoy listening to it on occasion—for a child of the eighties, nothing beats a good synth beat!
Scoring the Matrix
In this project, I used Soundtrack to create an audio score that fit a trailer for the final movie in the Matrix trilogy. While it is not necessarily my best work, this was an interesting exercise and yielded a result worth including in my portfolio.
Prelude to the Madness
My very last project for the very last formal music technology class available to me at Alma, this was a completely original arrangement of Mr. Nobuo Uematsu's famous Final Fantasy Prelude, done in Digital Performer. As a die-hard Final Fantasy fan, I found this a fitting tribute to my favorite series of courses on campus.
The Gilmore Festival
This is a short narration on the Gilmore Festival, a statewide event that brings world-class musicians to Michigan every even-numbered year.
Caeli's Comet
The product of an independent study in Soundtrack taken in the Fall of 2004 with Dr. Riley, this stand-alone composition is deeply personal.
